Yes. MYOB Exo runs on your own SQL Server, with the Exo desktop client on each computer, and Xero runs in the cloud. To convert MYOB Exo desktop to Xero, we read the Exo database directly, then load Xero in the order it expects: chart of accounts, contacts and open invoices, conversion balances, then the historical data you choose to keep. When we migrate MYOB Exo desktop to Xero, the essentials come across first and older years can transfer as monthly balances. A MYOB Exo Xero migration is signed off when the trial balance agrees in both systems.

Some Exo customisations are addressed by standard features in MYOB Acumatica or Business Central, which reduces the rebuild scope.

Crystal Reports built in MYOB Exo are not portable to any of the migration targets. We take a full inventory of reports in use, confirm which are genuinely needed (many are historical artefacts), and rebuild them in the target platform's native reporting tools or in an external dashboard tool. This is one of the more underestimated parts of an Exo migration.

Yes. You continue using MYOB Exo throughout the project. A full test migration runs in a sandbox. Both systems run in parallel during the validation period. Cutover happens at an agreed date, usually aligned to end-of-month or end-of-financial-year. Exo stays available in read-only mode for historical reference after cutover.
