Founder & Lead Developer — HELLO PEOPLE

HDR Postgraduate Researcher (AI & RAG) — Curtin University

Kasun Wijayamanna is an AI consultant, technology entrepreneur, and software architect with more than 20 years of experience delivering practical digital transformation across Australia.

He is the Founder and Lead Developer at HELLO PEOPLE, an Australian technology company specialising in AI systems, intelligent automation, custom software development, and complex application integrations. Under his leadership, the company has delivered 100+ software and digital transformation projects, helping organisations modernise operations and use emerging technologies to improve efficiency and decision-making.

Kasun is currently a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) postgraduate researcher at Curtin University, focusing on Artificial Intelligence and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). His research explores how large language models can be combined with structured knowledge systems to create more reliable, explainable, and decision-ready AI solutions.

Originally trained as an Accountant, Kasun made a bold transition early in his career to pursue his passion for coding and technology. This rare combination of financial discipline, business strategy, and deep technical expertise enables him to bridge the gap between enterprise needs and modern AI-driven systems.

Kasun holds an MBA in Oil & Gas and gained early international experience in Bangkok, Thailand before migrating to Perth, Western Australia, where he now lives with his wife Sony and their two sons Talin and Rivin.

Beyond his professional work, Kasun has been deeply involved in community leadership. He is a former President of the Rotary Club of Booragoon, where he served as a member for more than a decade and was recognised with the Paul Harris Fellow award for his contributions to community service.

He is also a passionate supporter of community football (soccer) and cricket, actively contributing to local sporting initiatives. Outside of work, Kasun enjoys golf and weekend drives, balancing his love for technology with time spent with family and community.

Kasun's work sits at the intersection of AI research, software engineering, and real-world business transformation, with a focus on building technologies that deliver meaningful and measurable impact.

Kasun writes regularly on the HELLO PEOPLE blog and knowledge base, breaking down complex technology topics into practical guidance for business owners and decision-makers.
