What SQL Server versions and hosting environments do you support?
SQL Server 2012 through 2022, Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, AWS RDS for SQL Server, and self-hosted SQL Server on Windows. We have worked with on-prem servers behind a VPN, co-located hosted servers and all major cloud variants. Version does matter for some features — we will confirm compatibility in the scoping call.
How do you connect SQL Server to Xero or MYOB without disrupting the production database?
We always build and test against a copy of your schema first. The integration uses a dedicated read-only or service-account credential with the minimum permissions it needs — no direct write access to core tables during development. Production credentials are applied only at cutover, and we run parallel validation before switching over.
What is an SQL API integration and why would we need one?
An SQL API integration puts a controlled REST or GraphQL interface in front of your database so that third-party systems, mobile apps or web services can query or write data without direct database access. It enforces authentication, rate limits and audit logging at the boundary. Common use cases: exposing product data to a Shopify storefront, posting orders from an external B2B portal, or feeding data to a Power BI report without a direct SQL connection string.
Can you replace our legacy SSIS jobs with something more maintainable?
Yes — this is one of the most common SQL integration engagements we run. SSIS packages from SQL Server 2008-era projects are brittle and hard to maintain. We migrate them to Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue or Airbyte depending on your cloud footprint, with proper monitoring and alerting so a failed pipeline does not go unnoticed until someone complains about missing data.
How is SQL to cloud integration different from just moving the database to Azure SQL?
A lift-and-shift to Azure SQL (or AWS RDS) moves the database but leaves the same access patterns and connection strings. A true SQL cloud integration also right-sizes the compute tier, sets up cost governance, establishes an API or connector layer for SaaS tools, and where appropriate moves analytical workloads to a columnar store like Snowflake or Azure Synapse. We scope what you actually need rather than defaulting to the most expensive option.
We have customer PII sitting in SQL Server. Can you help with privacy compliance?
Yes. We design an access boundary — typically a governed API layer and row-level security — so that PII is never exposed via raw database access. We document data flows, identify fields that require masking or encryption at rest, and help you build the audit trail that the Australian Privacy Act and most enterprise contracts now require. We are not lawyers but we make sure the controls are in place for your legal team to sign off.
Do you work with MS SQL / Microsoft SQL Server specifically or other SQL databases too?
Our primary focus is Microsoft SQL Server (MS SQL / MSSQL) because that is by far the most common SQL platform in AU SMB. We also work with PostgreSQL and MySQL integrations where the scope fits. If you are on Oracle or IBM DB2 at scale, those are specialist engagements — ask and we will be honest about fit.
Do we own the code and integration? What about ongoing support?
Yes. Source code, deployment scripts, monitoring config and documentation are all yours in your GitHub or Azure DevOps from day one. No ongoing per-month SaaS fee to us. Hosting is yours (typically low cost on Azure or AWS depending on data volume and sync frequency). Optional monthly support is available month-to-month — never locked in.
