Comprehensive QA & Testing Framework
Enterprise Testing Strategy for Core Banking Platform
Regional Bank
The Challenge
A regional bank was planning a core banking system upgrade but lacked confidence in their testing capabilities. Previous releases had caused production incidents, regulatory scrutiny was increasing, and the testing team relied heavily on manual processes that couldn't scale. They needed a comprehensive testing framework that would ensure quality while enabling faster release cycles.
The Solution
We implemented an enterprise testing strategy covering unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and security testing. A comprehensive test automation framework using Cypress and Selenium reduced manual testing effort while improving coverage. Performance testing with k6 validates system behaviour under load, while automated security scanning with OWASP ZAP identifies vulnerabilities before deployment. Integration with CI/CD pipelines ensures tests run automatically with every change.
Technologies Used
Our Approach
Testing Assessment
2 weeksEvaluated existing testing practices, identified gaps, and designed target-state framework.
Framework Development
6 weeksBuilt test automation framework, established coding standards, and created reusable components.
Test Implementation
8 weeksDeveloped automated tests for critical paths, performance benchmarks, and security scans.
Team Training
2 weeksTrained QA team on automation practices, established processes, and enabled self-sufficiency.
The testing framework gave us confidence to execute our core banking upgrade successfully. Zero production incidents on a project this complex is remarkable. Our team now has the skills and tools to maintain quality as we continue to evolve.
