How much does custom timesheet software cost?
Fixed-price after a 15-minute scoping call and a short discovery session. A focused trade-specific timesheet system (mobile clock-in, GPS, basic award rules, Xero payroll export) takes 4–8 weeks. A full job-costed system with multi-award support, approval workflows and live dashboards takes 8–14 weeks. You know the price before any code is written.
Does it handle award rates, overtime and allowances?
Yes — that's the whole reason custom is worth it. Electrical (MA000025), plumbing & gasfitting, building & construction (MA000020) awards built in. Overtime after 38 hours, weekend penalty rates, public holiday loading, RDO accruals, site allowances, travel time, tool & meal allowances — calculated as the timesheet is filled, not at the end of the week. Award updates from Fair Work go in as a sprint task.
Will it sync with Xero / MYOB / KeyPay / Employment Hero?
Yes. Standard pattern: approved timesheets export to Xero Payroll, MYOB STP, KeyPay or Employment Hero with one click — pay-cycle aligned, STP-compliant. No more Monday-morning data entry. We build the integration in-project so there's no third-party connector or Zapier fee on top.
Can the hours land on the right job in ServiceM8 / Simpro / Tradify?
Yes. The most useful trade timesheets do both at once: payroll gets the hours, your job software gets the hours allocated to the right job + site. We sync to ServiceM8, Simpro and Tradify out of the box; other job systems are a few days of work to wire up. End result: job profitability data that's actually accurate.
What about GPS clock-in — what happens when there's no signal?
GPS / geo-fence verification works on-device — no signal needed. The app caches the location, the time, and any photo verification you require, then syncs the moment signal returns. Optional: site-based QR clock-in for indoor work where GPS is unreliable (basements, lift shafts, big metal buildings).
What if a tradie forgets to clock out?
Built-in reminders nudge them at the end of their usual shift. End-of-day auto clock-out (configurable, off by default) handles the rest. Supervisor can fix any missed clock-outs in the approval queue with an audit-trail comment — no silent edits.
How does this compare to Deputy, Tanda, TSheets, TimeCamp or ClockShark?
Those are good products — Deputy especially. Custom is right when (a) your award rules or allowances don't fit their templates, (b) you're paying steep per-user monthly bills and growing, (c) you need timesheet hours allocated to job + site in software they don't integrate with, or (d) you want one system for clock-in + payroll + job costing + reporting. Sometimes Deputy is still the right call — we'll say so.
Do we own the code?
Yes. Every engagement results in source code that you own outright, hosted in your GitHub or Azure DevOps from day one. No per-tradie or per-user SaaS subscription to us. You can take the codebase to another developer at any time. Hosting is yours.
