Real outcomes, by solving the real problems that sink MYOB migrations.
- Multi-Entity ControlMYOB was built for one company — running multiple entities means duplicate data entry, manual consolidations, and no single view of your group P&L
- History PreservedYears of GL, AR/AP, inventory and payroll history sit in MYOB with no safe path out — a botched migration loses the audit trail your BAS reviews depend on
- Real Inventory DepthMYOB inventory breaks down across multiple warehouses, locations or landed cost layers — Business Central handles all of this natively
- Power BI ReportingMYOB reports are static exports that land in Excel — your finance team rebuilds the same management pack every month
- One Microsoft LoginStaff juggle separate MYOB credentials alongside Microsoft 365, Teams and SharePoint — Business Central unifies the stack on the same Azure AD tenant
Six workstreams in every MYOB to Business Central migration
From chart of accounts remap and historical balance tie-out through payroll continuity, Power BI reporting and integration re-plumbing — every workstream is scoped before a single line of migration code is written.
-
Chart of Accounts Remap
MYOB account codes restructured into Business Central's dimension-based GL hierarchy. Cost centres, departments and project dimensions mapped cleanly so your existing reporting logic survives the move. Tax codes (GST, BAS labels) translated correctly for the ATO.

Migration Build & Parallel Run

Cutover

Cutover on a planned end-of-month or end-of-quarter date so BAS and STP stay clean. Pay run verified. MYOB stays read-only for one financial year as audit safety. 30 days post-cutover hypercare included. Migration scripts, reconciliation reports and all docs are yours.
Before you book the scoping call
Which MYOB products can you migrate to Business Central?
We migrate from MYOB AccountRight (desktop and cloud), MYOB Advanced (formerly MYOB Acumatica), and MYOB Exo. The migration scope and timeline differ by product — AccountRight is the most common starting point, Advanced migrations involve more configuration carry-over, and Exo migrations involve SQL extraction. The scoping call confirms which product you are running and what the right approach is.
Why move to Business Central instead of staying on MYOB?
The most common triggers we see are: the business now has multiple legal entities that MYOB cannot consolidate natively; inventory has grown to multiple warehouses or locations that MYOB handles poorly; job costing or project accounting requirements have outgrown MYOB's modules; the business is already on Microsoft 365 and wants a single vendor and a single login via Azure AD; or management reporting has become an unmanageable monthly Excel exercise that Power BI would solve. If none of those apply, MYOB may still be the right call and we will say so.
How much MYOB history can you bring across to Business Central?
In principle, all of it. In practice we ask which years need to be live and queryable in Business Central (typically the last 2–7 years) and archive older data as exports. The ATO requires 5 years of records to be accessible — we always migrate at least that far back and carry an additional buffer where the data volume allows.
What happens to our MYOB payroll during the migration?
Payroll is scoped carefully on the first call. The most common outcome for Australian businesses is that payroll moves to KeyPay or Dayforce connected to Business Central, preserving STP continuity and year-to-date figures. Some clients retain MYOB Payroll alongside Business Central as a short-term bridge while the payroll migration is staged separately. Business Central also has its own payroll module for some geographies. We do not prescribe the answer before understanding your setup.
We have multiple entities — can Business Central consolidate them?
Yes — multi-entity consolidation is one of the strongest reasons to move to Business Central. Each legal entity gets its own Business Central company file, intercompany transactions are handled natively, and group consolidation and elimination journals can be automated. Power BI sits across all entities for a single group P&L view. MYOB has no native equivalent of this for businesses with more than one ABN.
What about our existing integrations — bank feeds, ecommerce, POS?
Every integration currently connected to MYOB is inventoried in the database audit and scoped for rebuild against Business Central's REST API and Dataverse connector. Bank feeds reconnect quickly via Business Central's native bank reconciliation. Ecommerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce) and POS systems have published Business Central connectors or we build a custom one. No integration is left undiscovered.
Can you rebuild our MYOB reports in Power BI?
Yes. Custom MYOB reports and existing Excel management packs are rebuilt as live Power BI dashboards connected directly to Business Central. Finance, operations and board reports refresh automatically from Business Central data — no monthly export, no manual pivot tables. For businesses with large transaction volumes, Microsoft Fabric is available as the data layer.
Do we own the migration scripts and documentation?
Yes. Migration scripts, reconciliation reports, data mapping documents, and any integration code all live in your GitHub repository from day one — not ours. MYOB stays installed read-only for one financial year as an audit safety net. After that you keep exported archives indefinitely. There is no ongoing licence or fee to us after the project closes.
