- History Preserved10+ years of GL, WIP, AR/AP sub-ledger and payroll history at risk of vanishing in a botched migration
- Customisations RebuiltCustom fields, Clarity reports, Job Costing modules and Business Analytics setups can't just be exported and re-imported

Six MYOB Exo migration paths
From straightforward Exo to Xero moves for smaller businesses, through Business Central and NetSuite for mid-market complexity, to full SQL integration re-plumbing for mining and field-services operators. All four destination platforms covered.
-
MYOB Exo → Business Central
The most common mid-market step-up path. Exo GL, AR, AP, inventory, job costing and payroll mapped into Dynamics 365 Business Central. Exo Clarity reports rebuilt as BC report layouts or Power BI dashboards. Field-operations and project modules configured for mining and contractor businesses.
- GL · AR · AP · inventory mapped
- Clarity reports → Power BI / BC layouts
- Field-ops · project · job costing
-
MYOB Exo → NetSuite
Full Oracle cloud ERP for businesses that need multi-subsidiary, multi-currency or advanced manufacturing. Exo modules mapped to NetSuite's structure; SuiteScript custom logic replaces any Exo SQL customisations. Mining and field-services configurations scoped on the same call.
- Multi-subsidiary · multi-currency
- SuiteScript replaces Exo SQL custom logic
- Mining · field-services scoped
-
MYOB Exo → Xero
A simplification play for Exo customers whose complexity has reduced since the original Exo install. Chart of accounts cleaned and mapped, opening balances loaded, payroll history preserved for STP continuity. Xero apps (Cin7, Unleashed, Simpro) fill any inventory or job-costing gaps.
- Chart of accounts · opening balances
- STP-compliant payroll continuity
- Cin7 · Unleashed · Simpro add-ons
-
MYOB Exo → MYOB Acumatica / MYOB Business
Staying in the MYOB family for teams already comfortable with MYOB support and licensing. MYOB Acumatica is the cloud mid-market successor to Exo; MYOB Business suits smaller Exo customers. Data migrated with the same reconciliation discipline as cross-vendor moves.
- MYOB Acumatica (mid-market cloud)
- MYOB Business (smaller Exo customers)
- Same reconciliation discipline
-
Data Migration & Reconciliation
Exo SQL Server database extracted module by module — GL, AR, AP, inventory, Job Costing, payroll, custom fields. Every migrated balance reconciled to the cent against your last Exo BAS / EOFY. Trial balance, aged AR and aged AP all tied out before sign-off.
- Full Exo SQL extraction
- Trial balance · AR · AP tie-out
- Reconciled to last BAS / EOFY
-
Integration Re-Plumbing
Anything currently talking to Exo — EDI feeds, payroll bureaus, field-service tools, custom COM/API calls, third-party BI connectors — is audited and rebuilt for the target platform. SQL-based reporting queries rewritten for the new data model. No surprise dark integrations after go-live.
- EDI · COM · API rebuild
- SQL reporting queries migrated
- Payroll bureau · BI reconnected
A MYOB Exo migration, end to end
Three stages. Parallel run before retiring Exo. Reconciled to the cent before cutover is approved. Delivered personally by the founder — no account managers, no offshore handoff.

Week 0
Exo Database Audit
15-minute scoping call. We map your Exo modules (GL, AR, AP, inventory, Job Costing, payroll, custom fields, Clarity reports), data depth, integrations, and SQL customisations. Destination fit assessed — Business Central vs NetSuite vs Xero vs MYOB Acumatica. Fixed-price quote inside 48 hours.

Weeks 1–N
Migration Build & Parallel Run
Exo SQL extracted and mapped in stages. Target platform loaded with daily delta updates. Numbers reconciled against live Exo — trial balance, aged AR, aged AP — before cutover is approved. Your team runs both systems side-by-side until reconciliation passes.
-
Cutover
Live Cutover & Hypercare
Cutover on a planned end-of-month or end-of-quarter date so BAS and STP stay clean. STP continuity tested. Pay run verified. Exo stays read-only for one financial year as audit safety. 30 days post-cutover hypercare included. Source code and docs are yours.
Before you book the scoping call
Why is MYOB Exo considered end-of-life?
MYOB has publicly repositioned Exo as a legacy product and is directing development investment toward MYOB Acumatica (formerly MYOB Advanced). Exo still works, but it receives no new feature development, the talent pool of people who know Exo SQL is shrinking, and cloud integrations that modern businesses expect are not available. Most Australian Exo customers are evaluating their migration window now rather than waiting until support is formally discontinued.
Which platform should we move to — Business Central, NetSuite, Xero, or MYOB Acumatica?
It depends on your size, vertical, and existing Microsoft or cloud footprint. Business Central suits mid-market Australian businesses already on Microsoft 365 or needing strong manufacturing and field-ops modules. NetSuite suits businesses with multi-subsidiary, multi-currency or complex revenue recognition needs. Xero is the right simplification move for smaller Exo customers whose complexity has reduced. MYOB Acumatica makes sense when the team knows MYOB and the business needs a genuine mid-market cloud ERP without a vendor change. The scoping call covers all four honestly — we are not a reseller of any of them.
How much historical data from MYOB Exo can we migrate?
In principle, all of it — GL transactions, AR/AP detail, customer and supplier records, inventory, Job Costing WIP, payroll history, custom fields. In practice we ask which years need to be live and queryable in the new system (typically the last 2–7 years) and archive older data as exports. The ATO requires 5 years of records; we always migrate enough to satisfy that requirement and the next audit.
Our Exo installation has heavy customisations — Clarity reports, Business Analytics, Job Costing. Will those survive?
Not automatically — but they are rebuilt in the target platform as part of the migration scope. Clarity reports become Power BI dashboards or Business Central report layouts. Business Analytics views are rebuilt as NetSuite Saved Searches or Xero analytic templates. Job Costing logic is reconstructed in the target platform's project module. Every customisation is catalogued in the Exo audit so nothing is missed.
What about our MYOB Exo payroll — can STP continuity be preserved?
Yes, and this is one of the most carefully managed parts of any Exo migration. We preserve year-to-date payroll figures, carry the STP reporting trail across cleanly, and switch the STP submission to the new system on a clean pay-period boundary. No missed pay runs, no broken ATO reporting trail, no year-end surprises.
We are in mining or field services. Does that change the migration scope?
Mining and field-services businesses are among the most common MYOB Exo customers, and they typically have the most complex migrations — Job Costing across multiple projects, site-based inventory, subcontractor management, field-ops mobile workflows. Business Central and NetSuite both have strong field-ops and project modules; the scoping call determines which fits your specific workflow. Keywords like “MYOB Exo to Business Central mining” and “MYOB Exo to NetSuite field operations” land here because we have done exactly this kind of migration.
What happens to the integrations and third-party tools currently connected to Exo?
Everything talking to the Exo SQL Server database — EDI feeds, payroll bureaus, custom COM or API calls, field-service tools, BI connectors — is inventoried in the Exo audit and scoped for re-plumbing to the target platform. SQL reporting queries are rewritten for the new data model. We do not leave dark integrations undiscovered until after go-live.
Do we own the migration scripts and documentation?
Yes. Migration scripts, reconciliation reports, data mapping documents, and integration code all live in your GitHub repository from day one — not ours. Exo stays installed read-only for one financial year as an audit safety net. After that you keep exported archives indefinitely. There is no ongoing licence or fee to us after the project closes.
