What we deliver

Six software rescue capabilities

From reading the original 1999 FoxPro source code, through hardening the AI prototype that passed the demo but has no auth layer, to the day the legacy server is finally switched off or the no-code subscription finally cancelled — built so your business is never again dependent on software only one person understands.

  • Legacy Desktop App Rescue

DOS, VB6, FoxPro, Delphi, PowerBuilder, old .NET WinForms — read carefully, document every business rule, then rebuild in React + Node.js or .NET 8. Twenty years of logic and data preserved. Parallel-run cutover with tested rollback so go-live is never a leap of faith.

    • DOS · VB6 · FoxPro · Delphi rebuilt
    • Business rules documented, not silently changed
    • Parallel-run cutover · tested rollback runbook
  • AI-Built App Rescue

AI coding tools generate working prototypes fast — and security holes, missing auth layers, and zero test coverage even faster. We audit the generated codebase, harden authentication and authorisation, add observability, and restructure the architecture so it can be maintained and extended by real developers.

    • Auth hardening · OWASP audit
    • Test coverage · observability added
    • Architecture restructured for maintainability
  • Bubble / No-Code to Production

Bubble, Replit, Webflow, Glide, AppGyver — great for validating an idea, wrong for a business-critical production SaaS. We port no-code logic into a governed TypeScript + Node.js or .NET codebase you own outright, with proper CI/CD, staging environments, and database migrations.

    • Bubble · Replit · Webflow ported
    • TypeScript + Node.js or .NET
    • CI/CD · staging · DB migrations
  • Unsupported Software Modernisation

End-of-life platforms — old .NET Framework, Windows XP-era desktop, EOL SQL Server 2008/2012, Classic ASP — rebuilt in current supported runtimes before the next vendor advisory forces an emergency. We eliminate the runtime risk without losing the institutional knowledge baked into the old code.

    • .NET Framework → .NET 8 / Core
    • EOL SQL Server · Classic ASP rebuilt
    • EOL runtime risk eliminated
  • MVP to Production Hardening

Your AI prototype or MVP works for 10 users. Before you go to market with 10,000 users, it needs: real authentication (OAuth2, MFA, SSO), load-tested APIs, proper error handling, database indexing and connection pooling, secrets management, and a deployment pipeline that does not involve FTP.

    • OAuth2 · MFA · SSO added properly
    • Load testing · DB performance audit
    • Secrets management · deploy pipeline
  • Old Custom App Rescue

Custom software built 5–15 years ago by a development shop that no longer exists, or an internal team that has since left. We forensically audit the existing system, document the business logic, and either surgically upgrade the problem areas or rebuild module-by-module so the business never loses continuity.

    • Forensic audit of existing codebase
    • Surgical upgrade or module-by-module rebuild
    • 30 days post-launch support included
How it runs

A software rescue project, end to end

Three stages. Forensic audit before any code changes. Old system stays live throughout. Parallel-run before cutover. Delivered personally by the founder.

  1. Week 0

    Rescue Audit

15-minute scoping call. We assess the existing system: language, runtime, age, user count, the specific failure mode (crash on Windows 11, load collapse, security gap, missing developer). Fixed-price quote inside 48 hours — covering both what we'll rescue and what we'll build it into.

  2. Weeks 1–N

    Rebuild & Harden

Two-week sprints with weekly demos. Legacy system stays live throughout. For old code, we document every business rule before touching it. For AI/no-code prototypes, we audit the generated output first, then restructure. Original users validate the new UI against the workflow they know.

  3. Cutover

    Live Cutover & Support

Parallel-run before cutover so the new system runs on real data before go-live. Tested rollback runbook ready. Legacy system stays read-only as a safety net. 30 days post-cutover support included. Code lives in your GitHub or Azure DevOps from day one.

Common questions

Before you book the scoping call

What counts as "legacy software rescue" — is my situation old enough?

If it's causing pain, it qualifies. We rescue software that's 25 years old (DOS, VB6, FoxPro) and software that's 25 days old (AI-generated prototype with no auth hardening). The two most common triggers: original developer left and nobody knows the code; or a Bubble / Replit / AI-built prototype that needs to become a real production SaaS before you launch to real customers.

How much does a legacy rescue or AI prototype hardening cost?

Fixed-price after a 15-minute scoping call and a short discovery session. An AI prototype hardening (auth, observability, load testing, deploy pipeline) typically takes 4–8 weeks. A legacy desktop app rescue with rebuild (VB6, FoxPro, old custom app) takes 8–16 weeks. Enterprise legacy platforms (200+ forms, 50+ users) can take 4–10 months, delivered module-by-module. You know the price before any code is written.

Can you rescue an app built by an AI coding tool like GitHub Copilot or Cursor?

Yes — this is one of the fastest-growing categories we handle. AI coding tools produce plausible-looking code that passes a demo but misses: authentication and authorisation hardening, input validation, SQL injection and XSS protection, proper secrets management, structured logging, database performance under load, and a test suite. We audit the output, document what's there and what's missing, then harden it systematically. The resulting codebase is one a human developer can maintain and extend.

Can you rescue a Bubble or Replit prototype and turn it into a real SaaS?

Yes. Bubble and Replit are legitimate MVP tools — but they have hard ceilings on performance, security control, and vendor independence. We port the business logic into a TypeScript + Node.js or .NET codebase you own outright (no monthly no-code platform subscription), with proper CI/CD, staging environments, database migrations, and the ability to hire any developer to work on it going forward.

My original developer left and nobody can read the code. What now?

This is the most common rescue scenario. Our first step is always forensic: read the existing code carefully, run the system, interview the current users, document every business rule we find — including the ones nobody told us about. Only after that do we recommend what to do with it (refactor, strangler-fig replacement, or full rebuild). We've done this with VB6, FoxPro, old .NET, Classic ASP, old PHP, and custom C++ desktop apps.

How do you handle unsupported software that won't run on Windows 11 or modern hardware?

Two immediate options: (1) containerise the old runtime (Docker + Windows Server container) to buy time while the proper rebuild runs — useful when you need 6–12 months to deliver the replacement; (2) go straight to rebuild if the system is small enough or the urgency is high enough. Either way, the legacy system stays live during development so the business keeps running. We've done both approaches for DOS-era apps, old FoxPro, and EOL .NET Framework apps.

Do you modernise VB6, FoxPro, DOS, or old Delphi apps specifically?

Yes. VB6 (EOL since 2008) typically becomes React + Node.js or .NET 8 + Blazor. Visual FoxPro — DBF data migrated to SQL Server or PostgreSQL, FoxPro forms re-spec'd as a modern web UI, report-writer logic preserved as PDF templates. DOS-era C or BASIC apps: business logic extracted, rewritten in modern TypeScript or C#. Delphi: Pascal logic translated to TypeScript or C#, forms rebuilt in React. All with the same result: hireable stack, documented codebase, EOL runtime risk gone.

Do we own the rescued/rebuilt code? What about ongoing maintenance?

Yes. Source code, schema, deployment scripts, CI/CD config — all yours in your GitHub or Azure DevOps from day one. No ongoing per-user or per-month subscription to us. Hosting is yours. Ongoing maintenance is month-to-month, never locked-in. The code is on a modern stack any developer can work on — so you're never back in the "one developer who knows the code" trap.
